Sapporo (札幌市; Sapporo-shi) adalah kota terbesar kelima di Jepang dan merupakan ibu kota Prefektur Hokkaido.

Sapporo mulai dimukimi pada tahun 1869. Pada tanggal 1 Agustus 1972, Sapporo diresmikan sebagai kota utama di Hokkaido. Menurut sensus tahun 2005, Sapporo mempunyai penduduk sebesar 1.869.888 jiwa. Luasnya adalah 1.121,12 km² dengan kepadatan penduduk 1.668 jiwa/km².

Sapporo adalah tuan rumah Olimpiade Musim Dingin 1972, olimpiade musim dingin pertama di Asia. Sapporo terkenal akan Festival Salju Sapporo yang diadakan pada bulan Februari setiap tahunnya. Di Jepang, Sapporo terkenal dengan bir dan ramen Sapporo yang berasa miso. Distrik hiburan Susukino termasuk salah satu yang paling terkenal di Jepang.

Sapporo (札幌市 Sapporo-shi^?)   is the fifth-largest city in Japan by population, and the largest city on the island ofHokkaido. It is the capital of Hokkaidō Prefecture, located in Ishikari Subprefecture, and an ordinance-designated city of Japan.

Sapporo is known outside Japan for hosting the 1972 Winter Olympics, the first ever held in Asia, and for the annual Yuki Matsuri in the city, internationally referred to as the Sapporo Snow Festival, which draws more than 2 million tourists from around the world. The city is also home to Sapporo Brewery and the famous white chocolate biscuits "White Lovers" (白い恋人) exclusively sold in Hokkaido.
