Thanks to the role of the media crew also,the version of Hachiko's death was still believed until now.
But what actually happened, the doctor do a medical examination at that timedecided that the filarial worms in the stomach is the cause of death of the legendarydogs.
Because of Hachiko was so well known and considered a hero by Japanese society,his body preserved and exhibited at the National Museum of Natural Sciences inTokyo. And not only that, but most of the internal organs also preserved in jars.

Apparently, there is a professor at the University of Tokyo are still curious about theresults of medical examination of the past. Finally, in 2010, he and his research teamdecided to use modern medical technology to reexamine the organ Hachiko.
Using MRI scans and a sophisticated microscope, they found cancer in the liver andlungs Hachiko. These new findings indicate that Hachiko died of cancer.
